Web Spectrum Monitor

Post by G8GKQ » Tue Jun 04, 2019 1:27 pm

We have just finished a routine maintenance session on the Web Spectrum Monitor. Two issues improved:
  • There was an open-circuit around the centre BNC pin of a BNC to F-type adaptor which significantly reduced the 25 MHz reference signal to the LNB, and (hopefully) caused the intermittent phase noise issues that we have seen. This was cured and has improved the phase noise performance and increased the received signal level by about 1 dB.
  • F6DZP's inclusion of 0.1 dB steps in the MER indication on MiniTioune allowed us to fine-point the dish (which had not moved from its previous alignment), and this gained us about 0.5 dB.
