LNB to patch adaption.

Post by G1BVI » Fri Apr 19, 2019 4:05 pm

I had a chat with a friend of mine who has an amazing ability to come up with a mechanical solution for anything.. Thanks Colin..

I had an Octogan dual LNB a techno mate and a venton.
The Vennton was smple as it just involved removing about 5mm off of the horn but the others a little more complex.
Here is how he did it....

First he purchased a B and Q 22mm tank connector as shown above. Only the threaded flange is used, the rest is discarded.
Cut approx. 15mm from the front of the LNB cone and file flat. This should leave a flange, approx. 40 to 42mm diameter, which is also the diameter of the brass flange.

Drill and tap brass flange, 6off, M2.5 (2.1mm drill) holes on a 36mm pitch circle diameter.

osition brass flange on cone flange and spot-drill through. Drill these holes 2.6mm which is clearance for 6off, M2.5 x 8mm long screws.
Finally, screw 22mm connector into brass flange.

Technomate Finished..
