Just been re-listed. I think you need a computer to program it, but that should not be too hard with the specifications.

The device needs an embedded computer to set the values for the PA on every power cycle.
The OM who modifies it , is named in the auction.
Mine has got an Arduino for both PA parts.

Documentation is more or less not available..... I have not yet contacted the original supplier of the device, he is located in the UK, but merged a few years ago...

For his help...

Re: Pic for Dave "Arduino for 13cms PA"

Post by G8DKC » Tue Feb 19, 2019 3:59 pm

Hmm,

"Arduino for 13cms PA"

130E a little expensive for my situation, I would rather sit on the unit and find a way to work the problem myself.

Yes, seems very expensive. I would buy one if it were a reasonable price but that is gauging. I wonder if anyone with one can explain how it works. I assume it is using an SPI or I2C interface to send data?

Hi Rainer,

Thank you for the pin out, apparently each PA requires individual settings on 4 transistors.

Together, the settings require 10 parameters.

So looks like some study in Digital PreDistortion (DPD) measurements etc so a big ask and long study.

The guy who did the original mods started his journey about 3 months ago with the help of an Arduino expert.

But not giving much away, which I have views on...

We have started a separate io.group for this topic.

Let me know if anyone wants to join.

And yes, agreed this hobby would be a lot poorer if we all charged for everything we do rather than share it for the good of the community.

Yes please. I have quite a bit of arduino experience. If someone has one if we can look at the SPI bus perhaps we can work out what needs to be done. Failing that, just wire it up as a regular PA and bypass all the digital stuff.

I also don't agree with charging large amounts for knowledge is in the spirit of amateur radio. That's the way of the Elitists. By all means recover costs but share.
