I must be lucky, because my dual band feed seems to perform as well on receive as anything else that I have tried.

I have wedged a cut down late-model (1609) dual Octagon LNB at the end of the 22 mm pipe, but have also added 3 tuning screws in the pipe. I then fitted the lens from the Rocket LNB at the end of the pipe - not pushed in, but held at the mouth by tape.

The 3 (silver-plated, 6ba) tuning screws were spaced 7mm apart and one of them made a real difference to MER (well, 1dB!) and signal strength. It went in a long way and peaked the MER before causing a large decrease if it was screwed further in.
