Launch Date
CQ-TV 261 is a bumper edition. You should pay close attention to what G8GTZ says about Es'hail2. His background in satellite broadcasting means his views command respect.
Re: Launch Date
On what details are necessary to pay more attention in G8GTZ article?

Re: Launch Date
Hi all,
I was pleased to see that Spaceflight.com has now updated their Launch Schedule to include Es'hail 2 as launching in November. I f this is correct, the satellite is most probably at the launch base undergoing final pre-flight checks and preparations, which typically take 4-6 weeks. With a launch at the end of November and an in-orbit checkout lasting typically several weeks, satellite availability may possibly be early in the new year - fingers crossed !

Re: Launch Date
Although we do not have a confirmed launch date yet, as previously mentioned it is likely to be mid / end of November, a group of people from AMSAT-DL are planning to go over to Florida to watch the launch and I am probably going to join them.
This is not an official visit and there will be no special viewing privileges so the intention is to view the launch from one of the many public viewing points around the area.
This will be an expensive trip as it is not possible to book flights or hotels at least until the launch date is confirmed and then there is always the risk that the launch will be cancelled at the last minute.
If you are interested in joining us for this once in a lifetime experience then please send me an email and I'll put you on the group email list - note this is not a group booking and you will have to make all your own travel arrangements, but we will be co-coordinating activities once we get there.

Re: Launch Date
Es'hail-2 launch now delayed to Thursday 15th November 15.46 to 17.29 EST (20.46 to 22.29 GMT), according to Spaceflightnow.com. This is a 24hr delay relative to the most recent date given by them. This may be down to the weather, which is predicted as unsettled at the beginning of the week with thundery showers possible, getting better towards Wednesday and Thursday. All-in-all a moderate delay, which hopefully is a good omen for a successful launch next week. Fingers crossed !
