I read somewhere that the Sat is going to be at 26 degrees so that puts it r the same location as BADR 4 5,6
I set up my 80cm dish and got a strength 95% and quality 85%.
Thats a good start.
I had to ground mount the dish at the bottom of the garden so it looks over the house.

Looks like I was wrong on the location

I think you may have picked up Astra1 at 19.2E. There's a transponder, with similar settings to the Badr transponder, at 19.2E on 12110H, 27500.
The channel shown on the receiver display, "Rbb Berlin" is on the 19.2E transponder and the PID matches the listings: 0259 hex, 601 decimal.

There's also a 12110H, 27500 transponder on Astra2 at 28.2E, which makes it tricky picking up Badr. I haven't been able to pick up Badr on my 1m, but I think it's just around the corner of the house.

Good morning from a sunny Goonhilly!
My apologies, the BATC website has the wrong location for Es'hail-2.
Es'hail-2 is due to be at 26 degrees East, the same location as BADR 4. Es'hail-1 is currently at 25.5 degrees East and this has caused some confusion. So you can safely use BADR 4 to align your Es'hail-2 dishes and this is what we have just done for the Goonhilly spectrum monitor.
The website will be corrected next week.

Sadly you are correct.
This means I have to drop dish bt about 2 degrees to 26.5 and swing it to the left.
That 2 degree drop might then hit the house roof so looks like I could do with raising the dish higher off the ground too.
Is there a house in the way of your LOS?

Looks like you are using the same mount I tried first but sadly this is too low to see over property from back garden.
Note to self next time get a house with S facing garden
Set up looks stable up there.
Hope I can find BADR ..

My garden faces west and the dishes are at ground level. There's a narrow gap in that area between the edge of the neighbours' house and their tree.
Have you used http://www.dishpointer.com/ ?
It has a moveable marker that shows the required clearance height along the path.

Spent all afternoon trying to get it.
I am using something called a v8 finder.
If the guys at Goonhilly had not done it I would be giving up by now !
Will try again next Sat when I am fresher.

I've just got a V8. Very nice.
The Goonhily dish looks about 1.3m, which will do a better job of ignoring the transponders at 28.2E.
I wonder which BADR4 transponders were picked up at Goonhilly?

I set up a rxr on 11996MHz, 3/4 FEC and 27500 - that is the Mux with BBC Asia, Dubai TV and France today - it is a 1.3 Mt offset and we achieved 12 dB MER after careful tweaking.
I used a Dreambox in Find Satellite mode initially as that allowed me to set volts and 22Khz - once we found it, we used MiniTuione on the feed through loop to do final tweaking. It is quite touchy to do - I started on Astra at 28 degrees and went south but ended up on Eutelsat at 13 degrees by accident - which also has a BBC Asian service.
Just got to repeat it all at home now!
