Martin, you don't!

You should have clicked on the path line at the bottom of your picture and clicked edit, as in my post.

Without your help would never have got there.
A big thank you Dave for persevering with me.

Time for a cup of tea.

Well done Martin ,
You have done the easy part now try and get all views to fit your monitor.
you probably have a gap at the bottom and overlapped screens.
That really is the fiddly part.
I now have a 12 channel version and a 9 channel one.
Also a 2 channel one with rtsp streams for security cameras.
Now need a computer expert to design a script to do both rtmp and rtsp together.

Rather than get involved with the complexities of the PATH variable, you could simply copy the ffplay.exe file (you don't need the rest) into the same folder containing your script file. Windows always looks in the current folder first, before trundling through PATH. Or if you think there's a chance ffplay may have future additional uses, you could instead (or as well) place a copy in a folder that's guaranteed to already be on the path - C:/Windows/System32/ should be a pretty safe bet.

Hi,

I've found the solution to my "no left option" problem. I updated ffplay.exe and all works OK now. My original file was installed when I built my Minitiouner and hadn't been updated.
Hopefully this might help someone else...

Hi all,

it's very pleasing to see you've all got my multiviewer script running. I use ffmpeg a lot so wanted it available to run from any directory, hence adding it to my path. It's good to know how to do this anyway.

Martin G8KOE's screen shot is interesting because the outline of ffplay looks different to mine (as shown in the article) and has rounded sides. It must also have a higher banner at the top as the players are overlapping vertically. You can edit the line with the comment "Player banner height" and increase it until they just touch, looks like you might need about 34.

Benno PA3FBX has asked me to make a version that can display both RTMP and UDP streams in the same block of players so I've sent him the modified script for that. It has 2 servers and 2 lists of callsigns or port numbers. Sounds like Roger G8HKN could use this for RTSP as well.

Yes, filling up the full screen is bit tricky due to the banner on top. In the case of a 3x3 array, you need to bring the sides in by 80 pixels to make it fit. Alternatively, you could cheat on the aspect ratio and change it from 16x9 to 64x33.

BTW, is there some trick to uploading images on the forum or does it need permission from sys. admin?

Hi ,
Cracked it !
create 2 gaps in 12 stream version called gb3xx.
bring up 2 cam rtsp version and position cameras in gaps .
To run it I created another bat file to start 2 bat files one for
stream and one for cameras.
Also interested in what you come up with Gary.

Hi Gary,

Thanks for the script, it's really handy for a newcomer to DATV like myself.

As for posting photo's just go to the "attachments" tab just below the text box, there is a limit to image size though.

Thanks Dave for pointing out the attachments tab. I'd been mainly using the private messages facility which does not have this tab.

I like what you've done Roger to show two types of stream together, that's very flexible.

I made the for loop into a function with parameters so I could call it more than once and so switch to a different server and list.

I'll put a screen capture here using the attachments tab with 4 UDP streams (displays the port number) and 5 RTMP streams .
