In this edition Phil M0DNY gives some interesting insights on the use of the QO-100 websdr and spectrum monitor, which see an average of 1,500 and 500 unique daily users respectively. Ian G8XZD shows us how to use our smartphones for video production and Jim G7NTG describes a 10 watt linear amplifier for 70cms.
There are 4 articles of interest to repeater builders with Chris PA3CRX, Gary VK2CRJ and Duncan G7VVF all describing elements of their repeaters and the first part of an article on using ModBus for station monitoring by Justin G8YTZ.
Also in this edition there is news of the weekly Thursday evening BATC net on Oscar-100 – more details on the forum. Please join us if you have transmit capability and if not you can watch all the action on the BATC streamer: https://batc.org.uk/live/oscar100net
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, both BATC activity weekends and the IARU contest in June are now for fixed station entries only. At this point in time we are still planning to hold CAT 2020 at Coventry Air Museum in late October. The BATC shop is still open for member sales, although there may be a small delay in shipping but the BATC golf shirts are no longer available at this time. And if you are a member of your local radio club, make sure you mention the BATC offer of a free streaming channel to enable virtual club meetings - see this wiki page: https://wiki.batc.org.uk/Radio_Club_membership_2020
In response to requests from our members the copy available for download from the webpage is a high resolution version at approximately 28MB. If due to limited broadband speed, you need a smaller, lower resolution version, send an email to admin@batc.tv and we will send you a link to a 5MB version.
The printed version of CQ-TV 267, in full colour on high quality gloss paper, is currently at the printers and it is hoped that will be dispatched early next week to those members who subscribe to the printed magazine. If you currently don't receive the printed version, why not consider upgrading when you next renew your subscription?
We hope all our members will stay safe in these difficult times and hope you enjoy this high quality, packed issue of CQ-TV. Don't forget if you have any comments we would really love to have some feedback from you on the members forum.
CQ-TV 267 is ready for download
