Your electronic copy of CQ-TV 263 is available for download on the BATC website at https://batc.org.uk/cq-tv/cq-tv-download/ . You will need to be logged in to the website to access this page. If you have not already visited the new website, you will need to do a password reset before you can access the CQ-TV page - simply follow the instructions on this page https://wiki.batc.org.uk/Resetting_your_password
In CQ-TV 263 there's news of the switch-on of the narrow band and wide band DATV QOscar 100 amateur transponders on-board Es'hail-2! We've got full coverage of the first days events, experiences from users setting up receive systems, advice on DATV transmit systems and power amplifiers and full design details of a proven dual patch dish feed antennae.
You will find a report from the first regional CAT19 event held in Bristol last weekend - if you live in the North West you can find details of the Wirral event in May here viewforum.php?f=119.
Don't forget the next BATC activity weekend is this coming weekend and it's great opportunity to get on air and try all that gear you've been building this winter. And it's only 2 months to go until the IARU ATV contest in June - last year the UK had the most stations enter and we want to do even better this year! It's not just for the crazy people who go out portable, as you can join in the fun from your cosy shack! Full details will be published on the forum and the contest web page.
All this plus articles on 3D printing microwave horns, easy DIY hole plating, cheap bias tees, experimenting with baseband video and an FPGA based audio mixer for GB3KM.
There's also an update on the BATC website which suffered a number of malicious attacks last month. We are pleased to report that, due to the swift action of our volunteers, we did not suffer any data loss or corruption and we are confident that no members data was compromised.
In response to requests from our members the copy available for download from the webpage is a high resolution version at approximately 28Mb. If due to limited broadband speed, you need a smaller, lower resolution version, send an email to admin@batc.tv and we will send you a link to a 5Mb version.
The printed version of CQ-TV 263, on high quality gloss paper, will be dispatched in approximately 2 week's time to those members who subscribe to the printed magazine although there may be a small delay as we are in the process of finding a new printer. If you currently don't receive the printed version, why not consider upgrading when you next renew your subscription.
We hope you enjoy this high quality, packed issue of CQ-TV and we'd love to have some feedback from you on this forum thread.
