I noted the stripboard version in CQ-TV 250 has a reset but its not shown on the circuit.
Not shure how that is wired.

The reset pins on the stripboard are one to MCLR, one to ground. MCLR is already pulled high by a 10k resistor, so a push button across the 2 pins would provide a useful reset facility that would re-send the switching codes. (For some reason I can't see here in the forum the post in which you ask this question but it appears in my RSS reader). 73, G7DOE

Many thanks Ron,

I have just tested six other SUP2400s and they all work perfectly, no need to reset. The first one I used is just slow to start.
Typical I would pick that one first!

Many thanks for your excellent work, been trying to do this for ages.

That's good news, but also useful to know some SUPs are slower than others. Had I not been so lazy, I could have used another transistor and another PIC pin to read the DiSEqC ack, check for time-out and resend if necessary. In testing, I ran the send in a perpetual 'while' loop (so I could see all those 22kHz cycles on the scope) but I thought that might lead to glitches from the SUP internal processor so dropped back to the one shot. The delay can be increased by increasing the loop value around line 176 in diseqc.c from 100 (current value for 100ms) to perhaps 250 (for 250ms).

Are you feeding the DiSEqC signal into the second F connector on the minitiouner? I use a separate bias tee but we had wondered if you could drive through the NIM.

Thanks for the info Ron,

Not using the second LNB or bias tee, just removed the link that sends 12v to the LNB, used the supply side to feed the circuit and fed the output back to the LNB feed, there is also a ground connection on the same header, all very neat and easy :D

Same thing but surface mount for those of that persuasion :D , Thanks John for the layout.

Thanks Ron, You have started something now!
Really pleased you sent in that CQ-TV article.
Thanks to John who has done all the PCB design work for me to try. 8-)

This version works for a standard Sat RX.

I would like to try a version with a longer delay to see if my slow to start SUP2400s work as well.
If I reset the circuit they all work.

Internal DiSEqC 22Khz Sat Rx Not Switching

Post by G8DKC » Thu Feb 25, 2016 4:50 pm

Hi Ron,

Thank you for making my day on your SUP2400 switcher.

Had just finished and it would not switch, after a couple of days got round to putting scope on LNB voltage from SL 30/12 Rx.

The outcome was 22Khz tone from Rx not switching off, but showing off in the setup menu.

Thought I'd mention in case others found this problem, over the moon this Pm as my 437Mhz signal apeared.

Turned off LNB voltage and powering Sup2400 on the faulty Sat Rx from your board all ok.

Best 73

Peter

Peter,

my heart sinks when someone seems to have a problem - but heart rises higher when they solve it themselves :) . And hopefully useful to others as you say.
